Between October, 2007 middle 2013 - this small album represents unique views some of the talented people representing the San Francisco Bay Area Cuban timba scene.
Some of the early shots are from the famous, late-great Jelly's at Pier 50 in San Francisco. Late afternoon lighting at Jelly's was unequalled and it is a shame this venue no longer is allowed to operate.
The San Jose Jazz Festival is a great venue for the bands, though I no longer shoot the event due to crowding and my fundamental belief most people are happy with cell phone photos. There is not much incentive to shoot these shows properly so these photos represent a high water mark.
Then there is Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz...great sound system, terrible arcade lighting. I often prayed for a show with no Christmas tree lighting and was disappointed every time.
